Gilda's Club Rochester

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Gilda's Club is a national organization which offers support to anyone affected by cancer. They offer, outings, support groups, and more to build a community of love.

This rebranding of Gilda's Club Rochester creates a visual focus on key aspects of Gilda's Club; love, support, community, and trust.

NEW LOGO

The current logo for Gilda's Club Rochester, was a visually harsh caricature of Gilda Radner behind a red door. While it payed homage to the club's namesake, I felt that it was more important for the logo to speak to the organization's purpose, by using a calmer, more friendly color, and keeping it simple, and typographic. However, Gilda is still an important component, so I chose a handwritten type, to reflect Gilda's fun, spunky, and uplifting personality.

Redesign

WEBSITE

The website also needed some updating for Gilda's Club. It was overwhelming and difficult to navigate, and the bright red didn’t help. Using purple toned photography, and accented elements, gives my redesign a feeling of community, support, and friendship as it should. Allowing for a more concise and better organized navigation, with large margins, and subtle section blocking, makes the site less complicated and gives it a soothing appearance.

TABLE BANNERS

Table banners and vertical standing banners would be used at any event or fundraiser Gilda's Club might have. They display the purpose of the club with imagery and their tagline.

MERCHANDISE

Additional merchandise was created to get the word out, and allow people to show the sense of community Gilda's Club has given them. Mugs offer a vessel for warm drinks, which often give people comfort, much like Gilda's Club does. Hats and bandanas allow anyone who may be going through Chemotherapy and loosing their hair, to cover their heads if they choose, and shirts can be worn at fundraisers and other events to show the Gilda's Club "family".
